2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV Electric Reviews

2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV Reviews

Others say there’s no way the Mitsubishi i-MiEV will fit American frames comfortably. Many reviewers are impressed with the i-MiEv’s performance on the road; the car has more strength than its small frame suggests. The Mitsubishi i-MiEV is top heavy, making it susceptible to crosswinds. Mitsubishi says the i-MiEV averages about 80 miles on a fully charged battery, depending on road and weather conditions. Reviewers say about 50 miles per charge is a realistic range. Eco mode decreases horsepower and allows the brakes to regenerate battery power. After testing the Japanese version of the 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV, reviewer opinion doesn’t reveal anything unexpected about the world of electric cars: the i-MiEV is small; battery range is nothing compared to gasoline engines; chargers are scarce; batteries take too long to recharge; and the interior is cramped.

If you're considering buying a pure electric car that seats more than two people, then right now your choices are pretty slim, as in you have just one: the Nissan Leaf. Even at that tempting price, the base ES version of the Mitsubishi i is no stripper, as standard niceties include full power accessories, filtered air-conditioning and even a heated driver seat. For a couple grand more, the SE version adds alloy wheels, upgraded interior trim and upgraded audio. Mitsubishi is claiming a range of 85 miles, which is a bit less than the 100 miles promised by the Nissan Leaf. Charging times vary according to what system you have. A "Level 3" public quick-charging dock can provide 80 percent charge in just 30 minutes, provided you opted for the SE Premium package.

At 2,600 pounds, the Mitsu is fairly light for an electric car; the Nissan Leaf weighs about 700 pounds more. Of course, other all-electric cars are on the horizon as well, one of the more notable ones being the Ford Focus Electric.
The estimated price will be $30,000 before the $7,500 federal tax credit for which electric cars are eligible. The Mitsubishi i-MiEV (pronounced "meev") originally stood for Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle, but the company now uses MiEV to represent the electric drivetrain, with the tagline "powered by MiEV."

Exterior
At 144.8 inches in length, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV is about an inch shorter than the Mini Cooper and more than 3 feet longer than the Smart ForTwo, a two-seater. It's taller than both at 63.6 inches.

Interior
The i-MiEV's interior is roomier than one might expect, with surprising headroom thanks to the car's tall stature. The i-MiEV's drivetrain consists of a 330-volt lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 16 kilowatt-hours of storage, a 63-horsepower electric motor and rear-wheel drive. When equipped with a second charging port, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV can be charged to 80 percent (roughly 80 miles of range) in 30 minutes using a quick-charge station.

Lancer Evo X is available in two trim levels

Lancer Evo
Lancer Evo X is available in two trim levels namely entry-level GSR and MR upgrades. Entry-level GSR is offered with a five-speed manual transmission, Recaro Sport seats and Enkei wheels, as well as the optional spoiler, HID lights, and sound system upgrades.

The S-AWC system, which regulates torque and braking at each wheel includes a bevy of acronyms: ASC (Active Stability Control), ACD (Active Center Differential), AYC (Active Yaw Control) and Sport ABS, an ABS system designed for aggressive driving. Safety measures include the Reinforced Impact Safety Lancer Evo (RISE) unibody system to disperse energy in front and side impact collisions and protect the fuel system from rear impact, and front and side impact air bags, plus a driver's knee air bag.

The Lancer Evo X SE packs the same TC-SST transmission as its 335i-challenging sibling, complete with three driving modes – Normal, Sport and Super-Sport – channeling all 291 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque to its S-AWC all-wheel drive system.

Inside, cloth Recaros come standard – our preferred choice compared to the MR's leather-lined thrones.
The entry-level Symposium is offered with a five-speed manual transmission, Recaro Sport seats and Enkei wheels and optional spoiler, HID headlights, and upgraded sound system.
The Lancer Evo X was introduced as a concept at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2005. This was designed by Omer Halilhozdic. Now, Mitsubishi gears up to launch the tenth-generation of the Lancer, the Lancer Evo.

The new Outlander and the to-be-launched Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X have a similar front grille and styling.

The new 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X SE (Special Edition) goes on sale this September, priced from $36,445 (including a $745 destination charge).

Other key performance components carried over from the top-of-the-line MR edition to the SE include the high performance suspension package that employs Eibach springs and Bilstein shock absorbers, xenon headlights, two-piece Brembo front brake rotors and also the MR’s lip spoiler. Inside, cost cutting sees heated cloth Recaro seats fitted as standard and the navigation system made optional.

2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Review

2011 Outlander Sport
2011 Mitsubishi Outlander sport. Reviewers are eager to note that the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport fails to capitalize on its “sport” nomenclature. From its relatively underpowered four-cylinder engine, to its soft and squishy suspension, the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is not the compact crossover for those seeking a sporty driving experience. Critics praise the Outlander Sport’s solid value proposition. The Sportage starts out $200 cheaper than the Outlander Sport. The Countryman is available with a 181-horsepower engine that eclipses the Outlander Sport’s by 33-horsepower.

Details: Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is an all-new model for Mitsubishi. Although it shares a platform with the larger Mitsubishi Outlander, the exterior and interior dimensions of the Outlander Sport are significantly smaller.
The Outlander Sport is available in two trim levels, ES and SE. Base ES two-wheel-drive models are available with a five-speed manual transmission, while all-wheel-drive and SE Outlander Sport models come with a CVT automatic transmission.

Maybe you’ve heard of the Outlander Sport before?
EVO-STYLED SPORT-CROSS OFFERS COMPELLING GOOD LOOKS
One thing becomes clear as soon as you approach this vehicle; this new Outlander Sport is a good looking little utility vehicle. If it’s a rather dull night with not many stars in the sky, fret not because the Outlander Sport can bring its own along. The roof has another plus point as well. While many vehicles nowadays are offering some sort of panoramic roof, most have manual covers to block the sunlight or they have flimsy, fabric curtains that don’t cover you against a blazing sun very effectively. The Outlander Sport, however, has a power, hard cover, which neatly gets tucked away in the rear roof section of the vehicle at the touch of a button. We’re glad Mitsubishi had their thinking cap on when they designed this feature, because most companies don’t.

Mitsubishi also got the equipment list right. So if you want, you can get a built-in navigation system, a reversing camera, a 710-watt Rockford Fosgate sound system featuring nine speakers, hands-free phone, a Fast Key system (which means the key can stay in your pocket and you can not only enter the vehicle, but start and stop it without fiddling with keys), and heated seats that can really toast your backside.

Trunk space is adequate if not very generous (fold down its rear seats for extra space if needed) and you do have to lift items quite high to get them in there, so those of shorter stature will complain.

SPORTY HANDLING WITHOUT THE STIFF RIDE
The 2011 Outlander Sport’s ride quality is also to be appreciated. Keener drivers can even choose to have a five-speed manual gearbox, which comes as standard equipment on the base model.
Like its competitors you get to choose between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models. Our tester came with all-wheel drive, and we quite liked the fact you can switch between two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive on the fly by just twisting a knob on the center console. The 2011 Outlander Sport is just such vehicle.

Arrived with a total length of 169.1 inches versus 183.7 Outlander, all new Mitsubishi Outlander sport more than a foot shorter than my brother, and closer to the width (69.7 inches vs. 70.9 inches) and high (64 cm 2 vs. 66.1), while an identical wheelbase of 105.1 sharing Mitsubishi Outlander ES 2WD CVT Sport cm on the scale with a curb weight of 3098 pounds – slightly more than 100 pounds heavier than most sedans equipped Lancer GTS CVT. Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Brand New, slightly smaller version of those 7-passenger CUV with a totally new body, is the economic engine 5-speed manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT) and paired comfortable accommodation in five years.

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, improved version, at least 148 hp @ 6000 rpm fully 4B11 and 143 lb-ft of torque produced at 4200 rpm lower than the configuration 2.0-liter inline-4.

2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor Reviews

Mitsubishi Endeavor
The 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor continues where the 2010 model left off. Reviewers note that Mitsubishi’s own Outlander offers similar dimensions to the Endeavor and is a much more refined SUV. While reviewers like the Endeavors low-end grunt from its torque V6, they criticize the 4-speed automatic transmission and the Endeavors pitiful EPA fuel economy figures of 15-city and 21-highway (all-wheel-drive models suffer even more with a highway rating of 19).
The midsize crossover SUV class is filled with great alternatives to the Endeavor. Of note is Mitsubishi’s own Outlander.

Details: Mitsubishi Endeavor
The 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor is available in two trim levels: LS and SE. All-wheel-drive is only available on the top-line SE model.

The Endeavor is a midsize crossover SUV from Mitsubishi that combines smart styling with lots of room for five people and their gear. When first introduced, the Mitsubishi Endeavor earned a surprise win in an Edmunds comparison test. It won with a combination of good looks, torque-filled engine performance, smart handling and excellent (for a crossover) off-road performance.
Current Mitsubishi Endeavor
The Mitsubishi Endeavor is based on vehicle architecture that's shared with Mitsubishi's Galant sedan and Eclipse coupe. There are two trim levels: LS and SE. The Endeavor comes standard with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available, but only with the SE trim level. All models are equipped with stability control, traction control, standard rollover-sensing side-curtain airbags and a tire-pressure monitoring system. The entry-level LS trim features air-conditioning, full power accessories, Bluetooth and a CD player. Maximum cargo capacity is also disappointing at 76.4 cubic feet, and the lack of a third-row seat diminishes the Endeavor's appeal for families.

Used Mitsubishi Endeavor Models
Shortly after its debut, the Endeavor was updated as a 2004.5 model. An antilock braking system became available on LS two-wheel-drive models. This midyear upgrade also included standard front-seat side airbags and a leather steering wheel for the Endeavor XLS. New options included a rear-seat DVD entertainment system and stability control for the AWD Limited. The XLS was dropped in 2006 and the Limited trim was replaced by an SE trim for 2007. Side-curtain airbags were added to the standard features list in '07.

Mitsubishi Endeavour is based on PS platform. Mitsubishi Endeavour is the first vehicle built under Project America. This vehicle shares its platform with Mitsubishi Eclipse and Mitsubishi Glant. 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavour is a mid size crossover model available with four trim levels which include Base LS model and Luxury SE trims. Base trim Mitsubishi Endeavour LS is armored with front wheel drive channel and Mitsubishi Endeavour SE trim is armored with either front wheel drive channel or all wheel drive channel.

2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Reviews

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is a convertible version of the Eclipse coupe. Current Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder

The front-wheel-drive Eclipse Spyder is available in base GS Sport and sporty GT trims and shares its basic platform with the Galant sedan. The GS Sport is powered by a 162-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder that is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while a four-speed automatic with manual-shift control is available as an option. The GT features a 265-hp 3.8-liter V6, but a five-speed automatic is the only transmission offered.

Both models have a power-operated convertible soft top and stability control.
In reviews, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder has earned favorable commentary for its powerful V6 engine, comfortable front seating and stylish interior. Used Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Models
The present-generation Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder debuted in 2007. Both GS and GT models gained Bluetooth, a rearview camera and stability control as standard equipment, as well. Revisions for '11 included 18-inch alloy wheels, heated leather front seats and a power driver

seat for all models.
There are two previous versions of the Eclipse Spyder. A Spyder was available for the 2001-'05 model years of the third-generation Eclipse. This generation's Spyder GS was powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder good for 147 hp. The original Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder was available from 1996-'99 and corresponded to the second-generation coupe. A five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic were offered.

2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is one of the last of its type. The 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder comes with standard alloy wheels and gets some reduction in its price as well. The power driver seat and heated leather frontage seats for the car are standard now on the GS Sport. The 2011 Eclipse Spyder comes in a single body style of Spyder convertible, though the 2011 Eclipse can be got with both coupe and the convertible body styles. The Spyder convertible is available in GS Sport and GT trim, while for the Coupe you get an additional base GS trim.

The Eclipse Spyder gets a power convertible roof.
The last GT trim comes with a standard V6 engine, bigger rear brakes, large rear spoiler (for coupe only), automatic climate control and a better rear stabilizer bar. The four-speed automatic transmission is typical on the GS Sport trim. The 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder’s standard safety equipments includes taller side airbags which covers occupants’ head and in addition it gets stability control, four-wheel antilock brakes and taller front seat side airbags, which covers occupants’ heads.

New for the 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder
Vastly Expanded No-Cost Luxury Features (GS Sport)
For the 2011 model year, the entry-level Eclipse Spyder GS Sport adds a plethora of high-end luxury amenities to its already heavily-appointed standard equipment package. Among the new additions are leather seating surfaces; heated front seats and side view mirrors; power driver's seat; very attractive 18-in. alloy wheels; high intensity discharge (HID) headlights; and aluminum pedals and entrance sills. Many automobile manufacturers charge consumers
thousands of dollars extra for such upmarket accessories, but the 2011 Eclipse Spyder GS Sport includes them free of charge.

Lowered Ride Height
Both the 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS Sport and GT models now feature a ride height that has been lowered by 0.6 in. (15 mm). 12V Accessory Outlet
A convenient new included on every 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is the addition of a 12V accessory power outlet. With the top up, the cabin remains surprisingly quiet, thanks to a high-quality, multi-layer cloth top (not cheap vinyl like some class competitor's convertible tops) with a headliner that looks identical to that found in the closed-top coupe.
The Eclipse Spyder's power top folds quickly and completely out of view beneath a flush-fitting, hard shell tonneau cover in only about 19 seconds. Choice of Fuel-Saving 4-cylinder or Vastly More Powerful V-6 Engines

Every 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS Sport is equipped with a normally-aspirated 2.4-liter (2378 cc) SOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine that features a sturdy cast iron block and a lightweight aluminum cylinder head. To make the most of the fun handling capabilities of this top-down sports car, all of the top-tier 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT models are powered by an engine that produces more than 100 horsepower over that of the 4-cylinder powerplant in the Eclipse Spyder GS Sport. To achieve optimal power, low emissions and maximize fuel efficiency, both the I-4 and V-6 engines include Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) variable valve-timing system. Matching the sumptuous ride offered by the Eclipse Spyder's rock-solid chassis and smooth-operating engines are a pair of automatic transmissions more than up to the task. The 4-cylinder-powered Eclipse GS Sport features an effortlessly-shifting 4-speed automatic transmission while the Eclipse GT adds an additional cog to its 5-speed automatic gearbox.

A Safe Spyder
Every 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder includes numerous ingenious safety design features and technologies incorporated into this convertible 2+2. Advanced electronic driver aids that help the driver to control the vehicle in adverse traction situations include anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD); Active Stability Control (ASC) and Traction Control Logic (TCL).

2011 mitsubishi galant reviews

Due to its cheap interior, underpowered engine and dated feel, reviewers don’t recommend the 2011 Mitsubishi Galant.
The Mitsubishi Galant was last redesigned in 2004, and reviewers say it shows. During test drives of the Galant, reviewers found plenty to complain about: an underpowered engine, out-of-date transmission and an interior with a cheap, rental car ambiance. The Sonata matches the Galant’s long warranty and has standard features on the base model that you have to pay extra for on the Galant.

There was a time when the Galant aspired to be a European-style sedan, but now time has passed by this model and the 2011 Mitsubishi Galant can't match its competition from Japan. As an automobile, the 2011 Mitsubishi Galant is a proven package.

The 2011 Mitsubishi Galant is a midsize sedan available in ES and SE trim levels. The SE adds a power sunroof, 18-inch alloy wheels, foglights, a back-up camera, heated mirrors, a rear spoiler, automatic climate control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual illuminated vanity mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel (with audio controls), an eight-way power driver seat (includes lumbar adjustment), heated front seats, Bluetooth, navigation system, color LCD screen and an eight-speaker Rockford Acoustic Design audio system with six-CD changer and satellite radio.
Every Mitsubishi Galant is powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine attached to a four-speed automatic. Output is 160 hp and 157 pound-feet of torque, totals that trail those from almost all of the Galant's competition. Fuel economy is an estimated 21 mpg city/30 mpg highway and 24 mpg combined.

The 2011 Mitsubishi Galant comes standard with stability control, antilock brakes, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. In government crash testing, the Galant achieved four out of five stars for driver protection in a frontal crash and five stars in all other front and side crash categories.

The Mitsubishi Galant's cabin hails from a brief period of time when silver-painted control stacks were the hip thing. There's also no telescoping steering wheel, a glaring omission in this class.
On the upside, the passenger package is relatively roomy considering the Galant's size, and the seats prove to be softly cushioned.

The somewhat drab, industrial-grade interior is packaged well, with roomy areas for front- and rear-seat passengers.
Anti-lock brakes, dual-stage front airbags, front seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and side front and rear curtain airbags are all now standard on the Galant, as is stability control.
In the Galant ES you'll find standard cruise control, air conditioning, keyless entry, and a 140-watt, six-speaker sound system. The SE adds automatic climate control, heated seats, hands-free Bluetooth, and a Rockford Fosgate audio system, as well as larger alloy wheels, a spoiler, and fog lamps.

The 2010 Mitsubishi Galant is powered by a 160-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and comes standard with a four-speed automatic transmission with Mitsubishi's Sportronic system, which allows semi-manual shifting. Galant ES and Galant SE have been given additional equipment and feature.

Galant ES ($21,599) comes with manual air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, power trunk release, power windows and door locks, power mirrors, height-adjustable driver's seat, remote keyless entry, 140-watt six-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo, rear-seat heater ducts, carpeted floor mats, and an anti-theft engine immobilizer.

The "2011 Mitsubishi Galant" comes standard with stability control, antilock brakes, front side airbags and side curtain airbags.

2011 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS

Mitsubishi Lancer
The 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS has a sportier look than most suburban runabouts, but lacks real sporting performance. The Mitsubishi models that use the Lancer body and platform cover a wide range of performance and cost. We found the Lancer Evolution X an incredible thrill ride and the Lancer Ralliart a fun sport driver. But now we're looking at the 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS, a semisporting version of the basic Lancer.

Mitsubishi offers the Lancer in a Sportback version, a slick hatchback, but our GTS was the sedan version.
With the CVT, the GTS gets an EPA-rated 23 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. Strictly front-wheel drive, the electric power-steering unit is tuned for its suburban mission.

Unlike the more radical Lancer variations with their spoilers and hopped-up engines, the Lancer GTS is a decent compact car with enough room for four and decent economy. In general, younger people liked the color, "more mature" folks didn't. We spent a lot of time driving the Lancer around town, which accounts for the rather poor test mileage. Handling is also decent. The front suspension is by MacPherson struts and the rear by multi links, and it is sport-tuned. The information panel has almost too much information, with fuel economy, outside temperature, fuel level, water temperature, gear and odometer.

We also appreciated the heated seats. Those front seats offered good side support. The rear seats offer good leg and knee room. the rear seats fold 60/40 to increase trunk capacity. Pushbuttons on the seat backs release the seats.

As for music, the 710 watt Rockford-Forsgate audio system worked well. Overall, the" Lancer GTS" is a nice compact package with a knockout paint job (my feeling). I question whether the options (leather seats, sound system, sun roof, added goodies) are worth the extra cost.

There has always been a glaringly obvious gap in Mitsubishi's current Lancer lineup. It's the giant-slayer, David, the little car that humbles supercars. It's also the hottest of the rally-inspired all-wheel-drive turbocharged pocket rockets. The Evo's only real competition is the Subaru WRX STI and, let's be honest, the Evo has been the better car for years now (Subaru has just updated its warrior for 2011, so a new comparison is in order). In the middle of its arch rival's portfolio has long lived the WRX, Subaru's Goldie Loxian sportster, which is very fast, very nimble, but very well priced (it still starts at under $25,000). Mitsubishi had nothing until this year, when the Japanese industrial powerhouse brought over two new flavors of its hopped-up Lancer, the Ralliart and the Ralliart Sportback.

2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse

2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse .This ranking is based on our analysis of 60 published reviews and test drives of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

If you're in the market for a four-passenger affordable sports car that packs a meaner punch, check out the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Shoppers not intent on driving fast should pit the Mitsubishi Eclipse against the Scion tC and Honda Civic SI.

The "Mitsubishi Eclips"e carries over into the 2011 model year mostly unchanged. The Eclipse is offered in two body styles, Coupe and Spyder (convertible); and three trims, GS, GS Sport and GT--The GS Sport trim, now has a power driver and heated leather front seats, as its standard equipments.

The standard equipments for the GS trim includes 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, air-conditioning, full power accessories, cruise control, a 50/50-split rear seatback, a six-speaker sound system along with CD player and a tilt-only steering wheel.

And the GT gets standard V6 engine, a better rear stabilizer bar, larger rear brakes, automatic climate control and huge rear spoiler ( for coupe only). The estimated fuel economy for Eclipse is 23 mpg average for highway and city.

Powering the Eclipse GT is a 3.6 liter V6 engine, which is capable of churning maximum power of 265 hp and maximum torque of 262 lb-ft. the standard transmission of this trim level is a five-speed automatic. Ensuring passengers safety in "2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse" is the four-wheel antilock brakes, front seat side airbags and stability control. The car doesn’t have rear head restraints. The lack of similarly priced convertibles in the modern auto market earns a look for 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. Though, the same is not the case with the 2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse coupe, which fails to keep up the pace with the modern hot hatches and sport coupes.

A 265-hp 3.8-liter V6 engine powers the GT and comes with a five-speed automatic featuring Sportronic shift control. The GS-Sport now receives leather seating surfaces, heated front seats and side mirrors, clear lip spoiler, power driver seat, aluminum pedals, and strut tower bar.

2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Reviews

Should you wait for the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport? Styling: As its name suggests, the "2011 Mitsubishi Outlander" Sport plays Mini Me to the Mitsubishi Outlander compact SUV. The Outlander Sport is more than a foot shorter than the Outlander in overall length and is essentially a wagon-on-stilts version of the Mitsubishi Lancer compact car. The Outlander Sport will have seating positions for five, with fold-down rear seats. Like the Lancer, the 2011 Outlander Sport will come with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive (AWD). It’s quite possible the CVT will be the only transmission offered on AWD Outlander Sports.

On the safety-feature front, expect the Outlander Sport to follow Lancer’s lead with rear drum brakes standard on lower-line models.

The 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander ranks 10 out of 24 Affordable Compact SUVs. At first glance, the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander seems like a compact SUV that’s just average. Before settling on the Outlander, though, reviewers recommend you check out the competition. Test drivers complain about the Outlander’s unrefined engine and interior materials that just seem cheap. Note that the RAV4 can’t match the Outlander’s warranty coverage, however.

The Outlander was freshened in 2010, so 2011 sees few changes.
The latest industry trend to be spotted at the New York auto show was the incredible shrinking crossover, exemplified by the Nissan Juke and this Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. A base model with manual transmission weighs in at an estimated 3050 pounds, thanks to features like recycled-plastic front fenders and extensive use of high-strength steel. Mitsubishi claims that the "Mitsubishi Outlander" Sport will get an EPA number of 31 mpg on the highway.

Like the regular Mitsubishi Outlander, the Sport is front-wheel drive, with an optional all-wheel-drive system. The uplevel SE model has features such as automatic climate control, 18-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing windshield wipers, heated front seats, and a keyless entry system as standard. The Outlander Sport goes on sale at the end of 2010 as a 2011 model.

Mitsubishi Lancer 2011 model year update

As a part of the Mitsubishi Lancer 2011 model year update, the company has introduced a new trim level into the range called the Mitsubishi Lancer SX.

Safety-wise, all variants get a revised brake assist system and an improved power windows safety mechanism.

The biggest change to the Lancer line up though is the introduction of the Lancer SX model. The Mitsubishi Lancer SX gets the same 2.0-litre, 113kW engine as the ES and VR models, while the VR-X and Aspire models get the 2.4-litre, 125kW four cylinder. Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited president and CEO, Masahiko Takahashi, said about the introduction of the SX model,
Mitsubishi has added a new six-speed 1.8 litre common rail direct injection diesel engined version of their Lancer. The Lancer features the brand new all-aluminum DOHC 16v 4-cylinder Common rail direct injection “low impact” Euro 5 Diesel engine, develops 150 bhp @ 3,000 rpm.
The highlight of this technology is Mitsubishi’s proprietary MIVEC variable valve timing system, a world first for a passenger car Diesel engine.

Taut and sharp, the Lancer again presents the new sharp visual identity for the brand, dubbed the “Jet Fighter grille”. The Lancer has a good comprehensive safety packages, including nine airbags. Other passive safety features include 3-point ELR seatbelts in all seats. The Lancer also employs Mitsubishi’s RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) uni-body that brings dramatic advances in multi-directional impact safety performance. The 1.8L diesel is priced at €22,995 with €156 annual road tax (Tax Band B) and fuel economy of 5.3L/100km (53MPG).

Mitsubishi L200 Reviews

Mitsubishi L200 Reviews
M
itsubishi L200. 4Life adds power windows, manual air con, keyless entry and central locking. Warrior throws in rear electric glass window and climate control. Animal gains sat-nav, CD autochanger and Animal graphics while Elegance steps-up with DVD sat-nav, leather, and powered and heated seats. Driving position feels more car-like, driving wheel is tilt-adjustable and the whole interior has more of a quality feel. Double cabs are more spacious than its predecessor especially in the rear.

There’s the option of a four-speed auto on the Warrior, Animal and Elegance models while the Animal gets the optional power boost of 26bhp to 160bhp as standard. The five-speed gearbox requires a firm action, has a long travel, and makes the most of the engine’s power.
Driving
The Mitsubishi L200 has old-fashioned leaf spring suspension at the rear, enabling very heavy loads to be carried. The 2.5-litre turbodiesel four-cylinder engine produces 134bhp, and is smooth and torquey, if a little unrefined. The range-topping Warrior even comes with a Ralliart engine power upgrade - available as an option on other versions - which pushes power up to 165bhp. Rivals include the Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, Isuzu Rodeo and Ford Ranger.
Owning
The "Mitsubishi L200" combines four-door SUV practicality with a huge, versatile rear pick-up deck.
Pick-up market
With a possible green shoots of growth starting to appear in the new vehicle market Mitsubishi have added to their already comprehensive range of double cab pickups with Long Bed versions which have 1,510mm of load length at the rear an increase of 180mm – roughly seven inches.
L200 Long Bed
The Mitsubishi L200 Long Bed is available with 4Work, 4Life, Warrior and Animal levels of specification covering most needs. Long Bed models range in price, including VAT, from £17,536 to £25,816 and running costs are reasonable for a 4x4 heavyweight vehicle of this type because customers can take the Mitsubishi Service Plan option which covers three-years/37,000 miles and costs £395 plus VAT.

Warrior specification for fixtures and fittings includes electrically operated windows and door mirrors, 17-inch alloys, traction control, cruise control, climate control, leather steering wheel, a good sound system with multi speakers and rear chrome bar as a bumper.
My test vehicle also had the full leather upholstery treatment and weighed in at £22,826 including VAT but not including the £185 commercial vehicle rate VED road tax.

Performance and driving
Unladen with the vehicle in rear wheel drive mode, the tail is very prone to wheel spin and the rear end sliding out on corners and roundabouts in damp weather. The ‘super select’ system allows for high ratio two and four wheel drive, differential lock and low ratio four wheel drive. With an overall length of 5,180mm, width of 1,800mm and a height of 1,780mm the L200 Long Bed is a huge vehicle to park, spaces are just not that big so I would recommend optional front and rear parking sensors are fitted.
The latest L200 Long Bed looks better balanced thanks to the extra load bed length but in Warrior specification it is very much a workhorse dressed up as a thoroughbred.

2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Reviews

2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Reviews
The original Mitsubishi Lancer never exactly blew us away.
Current Mitsubishi Lancer

Mitsubishi's stylish compact sedan is offered in DE, ES, GTS and Ralliart trims. Should that not be enough, there is the Ralliart, which offers a turbocharged engine and all-wheel drive. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on all but the Ralliart, while Mitsubishi's first continuously variable transmission (CVT) is optional (except on Ralliart). In reviews of the Mitsubishi Lancer, we've been impressed with its improved handling, sporty styling and high-tech optional features. Used Mitsubishi Lancer models
The current Lancer dates back to the 2008 model year. The first "Mitsubishi Lancer" was launched for the 2002 model year as a replacement for the Mirage sedan. The O-Z Rally trim offered a sportier look thanks to 15-inch O-Z alloy wheels and special interior trim upgrades. All trims came with the 120-hp 2.0-liter engine and a five-speed manual. Running changes included the 2004 debut of the Lancer Ralliart trim level, which boasted a 162-hp 2.4-liter engine, ABS, alloy wheels, sport exhaust and a sport-tuned suspension. Ralliart sedans came standard with a five-speed manual transmission. That year, Mitsubishi also introduced the Lancer Sportback wagon, available in LS or Ralliart trim. The 162-hp engine powered both wagon trim levels, but the Sportback was only available with a four-speed automatic. Mitsubishi discontinued the Lancer LS and both Sportback models in 2005. In 2006, the Lancer SE, featuring a sunroof, six audio speakers, cruise control and remote keyless entry, was introduced to freshen up the lineup.

In road tests, our editors found this Mitsubishi Lancer comfortable, though not especially fun to drive. The sport-tuned Lancer Ralliart, with its more powerful engine and tighter suspension, offers higher performance at an affordable price, making it the best choice of this Lancer generation.

Previous to the Lancer, Mitsubishi's small-car offering was the Mirage
The 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer ranks 14 out of 32 Affordable Small Cars. The 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer is one of the sportiest options among Affordable Small Cars. Reviewers find its front seats comfortable and handling adequate for highway driving and city cruising. The press also complains about the Lancer’s lethargic performance. If you can’t afford the Evolution, the Lancer Ralliart, the Lancer’s upmost trim, costs about $6,000 less than the Evolution.

Other Cars to Consider
Although the 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer is available, you can still get a 2010 model. The Mazda3 has more standard features and better high tech options than the Lancer, and it’s only about $500 more. The Volkswagen Golf’s plain exterior doesn’t match the Mitsubishi Lancer’s aggressive attitude, but it still tops the Lancer in the Affordable Small Car rankings because of its nice interior, powerful engines, peppy attitude on the road and optional diesel engine. Details: 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer:

The 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer is available in four trims: DE, ES, GTS and Ralliart. The base DE trim starts at $14,995. Meanwhile, the Ralliart, which has more horsepower and all-wheel drive, begins at $27,495. The Lancer Sportback, a five-door hatchback, is also available and starts at $19,190. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, a high-performance vehicle, is reviewed separately.
