Nissan Armada Platinum 2011

For 2011 the Nissan Armada is available in SV, SL, and Platinum trims. The SL and Nissan Armada Platinum Editions feature upgraded wheels and exterior trim, as well as Intelligent Key? And leather seat trim.

The Nissan Armada SV replaces the previous Armada SE, and the Armada SL replaces the previous Titanium model.

The Nissan Armada Platinum model continues unchanged. All three models are offered in both 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive. Armada’s expressive exterior design combines modern styling with traditional Nissan SUV ruggedness. Nissan Armada also features two-piece body-color side moldings with chrome insert strips on SL and Platinum models, along with SL and Platinum badges on the respective models.

The front bucket seats feature 8-way power adjustment and a manual lumbar support, while a 4-way power-adjustable passenger seat is standard on SL and Platinum models (4-way manual on SV models). Nissan Armada SV models include a flat-fold front passenger seat with recessed work area. Heated front seats, heated steering wheel and Platinum logo embroidered front seats are offered on Platinum models. The 2nd row offers a fold flat 40/20/40 split bench seat while the elevated 3rd row 60/40-split folding bench seat (folds flat into floor) includes a standard power-folding feature (optional on SV 4x2).

Luxurious Seton leather-appointed seating is standard on Nissan Armada SL and Platinum Editions, with cloth seating on Armada SV. Every 2011 Nissan Armada also offers up to 14 upholders and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Nissan Armada offers a 9,000-pound maximum towing capacity for SL and Platinum 4WD and 8,200 for 2WD models (when properly equipped).

Three wheel and tire packages are offered, depending on model: Nissan Armada a SV features 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels (painted finish) with P265/70R18 Conti-Track tires on SV models; 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels (painted finish) with P275/60R20 Michelin tires are offered on SL Edition; and the Platinum features

20-inch chrome-clad aluminum-alloy wheels with P275/60R20 Michelin tires.

In addition to the long list of standard equipment offered on the Nissan Armada SV, the SL model includes Nissan Intelligent Key, leather-appointed seating, Rearview Monitor, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, premium Bose audio system with 11 speakers, power folding 3rd row 60/40-split seat, auto-leveling rear air suspension and 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

The Nissan Armada Platinum model adds heated front seats and steering wheel, power rear lift gate, moon roof, DVD Family Entertainment System and Nissan Navigation system with XM NavTraffic system with Real-Time Traffic Information (XM subscription required, sold separately) and 9.3GB Music Box Hard Drive. The Driver Package (Armada SV 4x2 only) features Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, fog lights, Rearview Monitor, premium Bose audio system, XM Satellite Radio (XM subscription required, sold separately) and power-operated 3rd row seat.

The 2011 Nissan Armada offers rugged construction and a strong engine, but a lackluster interior means that it doesn’t standout in the class.

On paper, the Nissan Armada seems like a good choice for an Affordable Large SUV. Check. Check. Check. Available luxury features? Check. So, given what it looks like on paper, why don’t car reviewers like the Nissan Armada?

For 2011, Nissan has updated the available trims on the Armada. The former SE trim is now the SV, and the Armada SL replaces the Nissan Armada Titanium.

2012 Nissan Juke

2012 Nissan Juke-Each is offered with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain-side airbags, and front-side airbags. SV and SL have a standard sunroof, keyless access/engine start, and automatic climate control. Leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a rearview camera are SL-exclusive standard features.

Nissan's five-seat Juke small crossover is about 20 inches shorter than the Rogue, the previous smallest crossover in the automaker's lineup, but it packs a more powerful engine and a sophisticated available all-wheel-drive system that together give the Nissan Juke a decidedly sporty bearing.

Exterior features include:

17-inch aluminum wheels

Interior

Interior features include:

Standard CD stereo with steering-wheel controls and iPod connectivity

Standard Bluetooth connectivity

Available automatic air conditioning

Available leather upholstery

Available heated front seats

Available backup camera

Available push-button start

Available moon roof

Available navigation system with a 5-inch touch-screen

Available performance-oriented all-wheel-drive system can evenly split engine torque between the front and rear wheels, and also transfer torque between the rear wheels

Should you wait for the 2012 Nissan Juke or buy a 2011 Nissan Juke? Buy the 2011 Juke if you want to catch the subcompact urban crossover wave while it’s fresh. The 2012 Nissan Juke won’t change appearance for its second year on the market.

Link

The 2012 Nissan Juke will continue to share some design influence with the larger Nissan Rogue compact-class crossover. Nissan may add to the 2012 Nissan Juke lineup a fourth model called the Krum edition. Every 2012 Nissan Juke model will continue available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (AWD). The CVT should remain the sole transmission for AWD Nissan Juke and for all S models. Since Nissan Juke is an urban vehicle and not a trail-basher it uses a basic AWD system that normally operates in front-wheel drive but automatically shuttles power front-to-rear if the front tires slip. Normal suits everyday driving. Front-wheel-drive Nissan Juke will continue with a torsion-bar rear suspension and AWD versions an independent rear suspension.

Features: The 2012 Nissan Juke will remain targeted at a younger audience -- buyers early in their career climb, for example. Among returning standard features on the 2012 Nissan Juke will be Bluetooth hands-free cell-phone connectivity, driver-information and outside-temperature displays, and steering-wheel mounted Bluetooth and audio controls. Remote keyless entry should also remain standard on all Nissan Juke, with push-button start and satellite radio standard on SV and SL models.

Every 2012 Nissan Juke will again include cruise control and power door locks, mirrors, and windows. Also likely to remain standard on 2012 Nissan Juke SL models and optional on SUVs is a navigation system.

2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet Review

The 2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet is a new convertible variant of Nissan's popular SUV. So as far as convertibles are concerned, the 2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet is quite practical.

Given TTAC’s reputation for lack of restraint when it comes to criticism, I was more than a little surprised to see an invite to the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet launch in San Diego, California. Especially considering that our initial reaction to images of the world’s first soft-top CUV was

Which leads to a problem: how do you define successful designs for convertible crossovers? Nissan explains that the goal of this car isn’t simply to sell a huge number of convertibles: it’s actually intended as a halo for the Murano line.

Otherwise, new front seats have been fitted to give more visibility from the rear seat, and the interior has been worked over considerably.

Luckily the rising beltline keeps rear passengers well-cocooned, and the fresh air is not unpleasantly buffeting (although the rear belts will batter against the seats at speed).

Well, for the surprising amount of sense the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet makes as a value-poseur-mobile, Murano halo or four-up cabrio, on the road the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet falls apart under the weight of its many contradictions.

In that world, the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet would not exist, as large, softly-sprung convertible sedans would be able to seat four adults with the top down.

The 2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet is a two-door convertible variant of the regular Murano crossover SUV. Inside, it gets automatic dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a rearview camera, an eight-way power driver seat with power lumbar adjustment, driver seat memory functions, heated front seats, leather upholstery, a heated and power-operated tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel and an auto-dimming mirror.

The "2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet" is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 265 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) are standard. Unlike the regular Murano, which takes regular gas, the "Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet" requires premium.

The Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet comes standard with antilock brakes, traction and stability control, pop-up roll bars, front seat side airbags and door-mounted curtain-style side airbags. Convertibles are not supposed to be spacious. Otherwise, the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet shares its cabin with a fully loaded regular Murano.

Come winter time, the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet will show it's up to wintry tasks with its all-wheel drive. You'll be laughing at the meteorologist when you settle into the CrossCabriolet's standard heated leather seats.

With soft-top in place, the CrossCabriolet's profile looks similar to the Murano crossover. Because the front passenger seat easily flips forward, we made it a rule that the kids always entered the car from the passenger side. Like most convertibles, the CrossCabriolet's trunk is relatively small. Low-clearance items like duffel bags, suitcases and groceries in plastic bags could easily squat under the soft-top's housing. I averaged 18.3 mpg during my test drive, and with the top up I inched up the average to 18.5 mpg.

Because it's the top trim level, the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet comes with standard heated seats, dual-zone climate control and Bluetooth connectivity.

I appreciated the CrossCabriolet's high side walls; they came up to nose-height or higher on my kids. To find out how the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet did in MotherProof.com's Car Seat Check,

2011 Nissan Sentra Overviews

In SE-R and SE-R Spec.V trim, the Nissan Sentra gets a slightly dressier appearance that some might prefer, however. The front-wheel-drive 2011 Nissan Sentra comes with three different engines, and manual or continuously variable (CVT) transmissions, along with suspension tuning that's very different between trims. So the Nissan Sentra spans several quite different personalities. The sporty SE-R trim brings a larger 2.5-liter engine making 177 hp, matched only to the CVT. Compared to most other models of its size and price, the 2011 Nissan Sentra has a delightful level of refinement. Side and side-curtain bags remain standard as well. The Nissan Sentra has a mix of good and mediocre safety ratings, however.

The audio system offered on both top models includes a color display screen with USB interface. Intelligent Key keyless entry and start is among other extras, and full leather seating is available on the SE-R models.

For 2011, Nissan gave the Nissan Sentra standard stability control, traction control and antilock brakes, which make the Nissan Sentra much more class competitive when it comes to safety features. The "2011 Nissan Sentra" will meet most car shoppers’ needs. Other Cars to Consider

Despite its good qualities, the Nissan Sentra is not the best car in the class; there are a number of affordable small cars the trump the Nissan Sentra when it comes to performance, interior features, fuel economy and price. The 2011 Nissan Sentra is available in six trims: the 2.0, 2.0 S, 2.0 SR, 2.0 SL, SE-R and SE-R Spec V.

The 2011 Nissan Sentra sees only minor updates. Nissan also offers the SE-R and SE-R Spec V trim levels for those seeking bigger thrills. Under the hood, the "Nissan Sentra" is pretty competitive. The high-performance SE-R model offers 177 hp from a larger 2.5-liter engine, while the SE-R Spec V takes this engine's output right up to 200 hp.

Overall, the 2011 Nissan Sentra is worth considering for the right price. The 2011 Nissan Sentra is offered in six different trim levels: four variants based on the 2.0-liter engine (base, S, SR and SL) and two high-performance versions (SE-R and SE-R Spec V).

The Nissan Sentra 2.0 S adds 16-inch steel wheels, a height-adjustable driver seat, cruise control, keyless entry and a six-speaker audio system with an iPod interface.
Nissan Sentra 2.0 models come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that generates 140 hp and 147 pound-feet torque. The 2.0 Sentra base model features a six-speed manual transmission standard, with an option to upgrade to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The CVT comes standard on the 2.0 S, 2.0 SR, 2.0 SL and SE-R, with the SE-R offering shift paddles. The 2.0 Sentra models with CVT are notably frugal, achieving an EPA-estimated 27 mpg city/34 mpg highway and 30 mpg in combined driving; the manual transmission drops fuel economy noticeably to 24/31/27 mpg.

The 2011 Nissan Sentra comes standard with antilock brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. The higher-performing SE-R models come with four-wheel disc brakes, while the others have rear drums.Four stars were given for rear-seat side-impact protection. The Sentra 2.0 models offer 60/40-split rear seating and 13.1 cubic feet of cargo room.

Nissan Juke is a new model for 2011

Nissan Juke
2011 Nissan Juke Review

The Nissan Juke is part SUV, but its main competitors are affordable small cars. Choose the Volkswagen GTI if you want better performance, more cargo room and classy exterior styling. Choose the Cooper if you want a car with a unique exterior, but think the Juke looks over the top. With a $17,965 base price, it’s cheaper than the Nissan Juke, GTI and Cooper.

The Nissan Juke also competes against the Scion xB, Kia Soul and Nissan Cube, three box cars that have unique exteriors, adequate performance and decent fuel economy. While the Juke isn’t the most practical on the market, it does offer one very practical feature: all wheel drive.

The Nissan Juke is a new model for 2011.Under the skin, the 2011 Nissan Juke packs a few surprises. The Juke also boasts a sport-tuned suspension, quick steering and an available torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system that combine to provide entertaining handling.

The Juke's underlying structure is related to Nissan's other small cars, the Nissan Cube and Nissan Versa. Young drivers (or young at heart) should find a lot to like in the 2011 Nissan Juke.
The 2011 Nissan Juke is a four-door hatchback available in three trim levels: base S, well-equipped SV and leather-lined SL.

The SV adds a sunroof, rear privacy glass, keyless ignition/entry, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, upgraded upholstery, satellite radio, automatic climate control and the Integrated Control (I-Con) system. The SV can be had with those options as well as a Navigation package (navigation system plus the upgraded audio system). The SL likewise offers the Sport, Chrome and Interior Illumination packages.

Every 2011 Nissan Juke is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-4 engine that sends 188 hp and 177 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels. In Edmunds testing, a front-wheel-drive Juke with the CVT went from zero to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds, an impressively quick time for this class of car. The Juke's standard safety equipment includes antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, active front head restraints, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. In Edmunds brake testing, the Juke stopped from 60 mph in 123 feet, an average distance for a small car.

The all-new 2011 Nissan Juke is as fun to drive as any other small, sporty car in the market. The Juke isn't for everybody. Actually, it's not for anyone with kids in rear-facing car seats, which just don't fit in the backseat. All-wheel drive, which is tough to find on smaller vehicles, is available on the Juke.

My test car, a top-of-the-line Juke SL with all-wheel drive, cost $25,860. The Nissan Juke has a 188-horsepower, turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four-cylinder engine. On the SV and SL trims with front-wheel drive, a manual transmission is standard. Front-wheel drive is standard on the Juke, and all-wheel drive is optional. The all-wheel-drive Juke gets an EPA-estimated 25/30 mpg city/highway. The front-wheel-drive Juke with a CVT gets 27/32 mpg; with a manual transmission, it gets 24/31 mpg. The Nissan Juke uses premium fuel.

2011 Nissan Altima sedan Reviews

2011 Nissan Altima sedan
2011 Nissan Altima sedan tries to combine the Ford Fusion’s performance with the Toyota Camry’s spacious cabin, but reviewers don’t think it tops either of these affordable midsize cars. Perhaps the Altima’s biggest drawback is its price. Kelley Blue Book, however, thinks the Altima Coupe can hold its ground. "Offering only one less pony than Honda's new Accord Coupe, but falling far short of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe's 306-horsepower, the Altima Coupe nevertheless has the goods to compete in an increasingly competitive market segment."

The Nissan Altima runs in the middle of the pack. If you’re looking for a better performer, test drive the Ford Fusion and Mazda6. Like the Altima, the Ford Fusion has an optional 3.5-liter V6 engine that is great for city and highway driving. The Fusion pairs a comfortable interior with good performance. The Mazda6 also ranks at the top of affordable midsize sedans in terms of performance. It averages about 22/31 mpg city/highway – about as much as the Altima – with a 2.5-liter engine and automatic transmission. In comparison, an Altima with equivalent features would list for $26,485.

Nissan Altima: The Details
The 2011 Nissan Altima is available as a sedan and a coupe. The Nissan Altima is largely unchanged for the 2011 model year

The Altima Sedan competes in the very competitive mid-size sedan segment, going head-to-head with the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Malibu.

The Altima Sedan's navigation system sees the biggest upgrade for latest model, moving from a 4.3-inch display to a 6.5-inch touch-screen unit. A new Bose audio system is also available on the Altima Sedan, featuring a standard 4.3 inch color display, 9-speakers, USB port and iPod connectivity, Bluetooth hands-free calling and Nissan's RearView Monitor system.

Other than a slight shuffling of option packages, the Nissan Altima is unchanged for 2011.
Well, the 2011 Nissan Altima is one of those exceptions. The Altima's fun factor depends largely on which engine you choose. The V6 version -- known as the 3.5 SR -- comes standard with a sport-tuned suspension that trades some ride comfort for sharper handling, making this Altima feel more like a sport sedan than a family sedan.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2011 Nissan Altima is available in sedan and coupe body styles. The hybrid-powered Altima sedan is reviewed separately. The 2.5 S trim is available on both the sedan and coupe. The 2.5 S coupe adds 17-inch alloy wheels.

A number of option packages are available for the 2.5S. The Special Edition package includes alloy wheels, foglights, a rear spoiler, auto on/off headlights and a leather-wrapped steering wheel (with audio controls). The Convenience Plus package (sedan only) adds manual folding sideview mirrors with integrated turn signals, a sunroof and dual-zone automatic climate control. On the coupe, the SL package is essentially called the Leather package; it lacks rear A/C vents but gains xenon headlights.

The 3.5 SR adds a V6 engine, 17-inch alloy wheels (18s for the coupe), a sport-tuned suspension, heated side mirrors and the contents of the 2.5 S Convenience package. The 3.5 SR Sport package available on the sedan adds a sunroof, xenon headlights, foglights and dual-zone climate control. The 3.5 SR Premium package (available on the coupe and sedan) essentially includes all the 2.5 S coupe Premium package, SL package and Premium Audio package items.
The Technology package is available on the coupe and sedan versions of both the 2.5 S and 3.5 SR trims. It includes a hard-drive navigation system, real-time traffic and weather updates, Bluetooth streaming audio and digital music storage.

The 2011 Nissan Altima features two engine choices. A continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is mandatory on the sedan. The coupe gets a standard six-speed manual transmission with the CVT as an option. EPA estimated fuel economy is 23 mpg city/32 mpg highway and 27 mpg combined with the CVT and 23/31/26 mpg with the manual.
In Edmunds performance testing, a 3.5 sedan went from zero to 60 mph in 7 seconds.

Safety
Every Altima comes standard with antilock brakes, stability and traction control, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. The Nissan Altima has not been rated using the government's new, more strenuous 2011 crash testing procedures. The Altima coupe earned four stars for frontal impacts and five stars for side impacts. All coupes come with sportier seats that feature more side bolstering than the sedan's relatively flat chairs. The sedan offers a decent 15.3-cubic-foot trunk, while the coupe is significantly smaller at 8.2 cubic feet.

Driving Impressions
The 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5 should be just fine for most folks. The CVT is well suited to the more powerful V6, and the sport-tuned suspension paired with precise steering makes the Altima a credible sport sedan.

2011 Nissan 370Z NISMO

2011 Nissan 370Z NISMO
To appease these buyers, Nissan has given the 370Z its NISMO treatment.
NISMO EDITION INCLUDES A LONG LIST OF UPGRADES
For those looking for a little more sport from their Z, Nissan buyers can step up to the NISMO package, which adds 19-inch wheels, a NISMO-tuned exhaust, a sports suspension and an additional 18 horsepower to the 3.7-liter V6 for a total of 350.

The six-speed manual transmission—which is the only available transmission—also comes with Nissan’s SyncroRev Match, which uses computer wizardry to match engine and transmission revolutions while downshifting, thus negating the need for heel-and-toe shifting.

There are other tweaks that make a NISMO a NISMO. The tuned suspension consists of new, stiffer springs with “high-response” shock absorbers, as well as NISMO strut tower bars at the front and rear.

On the track, the NISMO feels somewhat like an American muscle car. Again, this isn’t a luxury car. Mitsubishi’s Eclipse doesn’t have the guts to keep up with the NISMO Z, and the Ford Mustang/Dodge Challenger/Chevrolet Camaro pony car trio play among a different market segment, all though all three match up fairly well performance-wise.

The six-speed manual features Nissan's new "SynchroRev Match" function, the world's first synchronized downshift rev matching manual transmission system. The Nismo's suspension is tuned for a firmer ride and sharper handling. Compared to a standard 370Z Coupe, front spring rates have been dialed up 15 percent, rear spring rates 10 percent, front stabilizer bar rate upped 15 percent, and the rear stabilizer bar is 50 percent stiffer. The Nissan NISMO 370Z rides on unique 5-spoke Nissan-branded 19-inch RAYS forged aluminum-alloy wheels (19x9.5-inch front, 19x10.5-inch rear) mounted with Yokohama ADVAN Sport Y-rated high-performance tires (P245/40ZR19 front, P285/35ZR19 rear).

Bringing the NISMO 370Z to a stop are standard NISMO Sport Brakes with large diameter 14.0-inch front and 13.8-inch rear vented rotors with 4-piston front and 2- piston rear aluminum calipers.

Developed by Nissan’s Specialty Vehicles Group in conjunction with Autech Japan, Nissan’s longstanding conversion partner, the limited production Nissan NISMO 370Z provides unique performance and design attributes that true sports car enthusiasts are looking for straight from the factory.

Advanced VVEL V6 and Tuned Suspension Come Standard
Every NISMO 370Z starts with the unmatched foundation of an advanced Nissan FM (Front Midship) platform, refined 4-wheel independent suspension and 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine with Variable Valve Event and Lift Control (VVEL). The NISMO 370Z is offered with only one transmission, a close-ratio 6-speed manual with Nissan’s “SynchroRev Match” synchronized downshift rev matching system.

2011 Nissan Xterra Reviews

2011 Nissan Xterra Reviews
the Nissan Xterra is an excellent off-road SUV. Though it isn’t as comfortable as car-based crossover SUVs, test drivers claim that the Xterra has a more refined on-road demeanor than many other off-road SUVs. “The 2011 Nissan Xterra is the one most easy to live with."
For 2011, the Nissan Xterra's Off-Road trim level has been renamed Pro-4X, while the SE trim level has been dropped.

The 2011 Nissan Xterra is the one most easy to live with.
To go along with the Xterra's tough-guy appearance, you'll find sturdy body-on-frame construction, a burly V6, tall ground clearance and an available four-wheel-drive system with low-range gearing. The premium Pro-4X trim further bolsters the Xterra's off-highway credentials with skid plates, a driver-selectable locking rear differential, hill descent control and roof-mounted lights.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2011 Nissan Xterra is a five-passenger, four-door SUV available with rear- and four-wheel drive. The Xterra X comes standard with 16-inch steel wheels, privacy glass, keyless entry, power locks and mirrors, cruise control, air-conditioning, tilt-only steering wheel, and a six-speaker CD sound system. The Xterra S gains 16-inch alloy wheels, off-road tires, a height-adjustable driver seat with lumbar control, a first aid kit and a cargo organization system. The Pro-4X adds an electronic locking rear differential, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, skid plates, different 16-inch alloy wheels, upgraded off-road tires, foglamps, roof-mounted off-road lights, unique cloth upholstery, a fold-flat passenger seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, white-face gauges, an auto-dimming rearview mirror (with built-in compass), Bluetooth and a nine-speaker Rockford Fosgate sound system with a six-CD changer, auxiliary audio jack, steering-wheel audio controls and satellite radio (with automatic transmission only). The Pro-4X Leather package adds leather upholstery and a passenger seat back pocket, but deletes the passenger seat's flat-folding capability.
Rear-wheel drive is standard on all but the Pro-4X, while the available four-wheel-drive system features a multimode transfer case with low-range gearing.
In Edmunds performance testing, an Xterra 4x4 with an automatic transmission went from zero to 60 mph in 8 seconds. The rear-drive Xterra returns an EPA-estimated 15 mpg city/21 mpg highway and 17 mpg combined.

Safety
The 2011 Nissan Xterra is equipped with antilock disc brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. Xterra Pro-4X models also come with hill-descent control and hill-start assist. The Nissan Xterra has not been rated using the government's new, more strenuous 2011 crash testing procedures. The Xterra's interior controls are easy to use and reach.

Driving Impressions
Thanks to the 2011 Nissan Xterra's powerful V6, performance is sure to satisfy. On the road, the Xterra maneuvers confidently with precise steering and relatively minimal body roll.
The Xterra is built on the Frontier pickup's platform, with a solid axle and leaf springs in back but a multilink setup in front for more responsive handling. All four Xterra models are available in four-wheel drive, and all but the Off-Road edition are available with rear-wheel drive. The available four-wheel-drive system is a part-time, off-road-oriented setup, with high and low ranges. The Xterra is offered in three different trim levels: including X, S, and off-road-focused PRO-4X models. PRO-4X models add 16-inch off-road wheels and tires, Bilstein shocks with off-road tuning, a locking differential (with 4x4), and skid plates. Automatic-transmission Xterras also include Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist.

An in-dash navigation system remains unavailable in the Xterra, but a Bluetooth hands-free phone setup is standard, and PRO-4X models include a Rockford Fosgate premium audio system with auxiliary input, an in-dash 6-CD changer, 8 speakers, a subwoofer, steering wheel audio controls, and XM Satellite Radio.2011 Nissan Xterra

2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid is an ideal hybrid sedan

Nissan Altima Hybrid
2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid Reviews

Altima Hybrid is licensed from Toyota’s Hybrid Technology. Hybrid model is unchanged for this year’s model. 2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid model is available in single trim level. Nissan Altima Hybrid model can be offered with three packages. Packages offered with this model include Convenient Package, Premium Package and Technology Package.

Convenient Package include foldable side view mirrors, eight way power adjustable driver seats, automatic headlights, leather wrapped steering column, rear spoilers, outside rear view mirrors integrated with turn signals and steering wheel with audio controls mounted on it.

In a growing class, the 2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid is easily overlooked because of its low fuel economy ratings, limited availability and expensive optional packages.

In theory, the 2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid is an ideal hybrid sedan. Second, the Altima Hybrid has great fuel economy ratings if you compare it to gasoline cars. However, once you look at competing hybrids like the Ford Fusion Hybrid and the Toyota Prius, the Altima’s ratings aren’t impressive. "The 2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid is a solid hybrid family sedan that also happens to be relatively sporty to drive,” says Edmunds. The 2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid’s main competitors are the Toyota Prius, Ford Fusion Hybrid and the Toyota Camry Hybrid, each of which bring one or more of these strengths to the table: excellent fuel economy, value, comfort and strong performance.

Nissan has been somewhat hobbled by the fact that its mid-size Altima hybrid sedan utilizes many hybrid parts courtesy of Toyota, which have so far restricted the car’s availability and also profitability.

Other somber exterior colors, such as Navy Blue, Ocean Grey, Dark Slate, Winter Frost, Super Black and (this is a good one) Radiant Silver, help cement this car’s persona as sensible and safe. That said, the Hybrid version appears somewhat out of place compared to its sportier siblings, the Altima sedan and coupe. The Altima Hybrid comes with a standard 6.5-inch centrally mounted touch screen and hard drive navigation system as part of the Technology Package.
Back seat space is decent, with ample legroom (35.8 inches, versus 44.1-in up front).

The powertrain consists of Nissan’s 2.5-liter QR25 four-cylinder, twin cam engine that boasts continuous variable valve timing and electronic throttle control, teamed with an electric motor and a Hybrid Vehicle Electric Control Unit (HV-ECU) that works in conjunction with a Continuously Variable Transmission to provide drive to the wheels.

Unlike Honda’s hybrids, but like the Toyota Prius, the Altima is a true hybrid – the torque produced from the electric motor at zero rpm gives sufficient thrust to move the car at low speeds without assistance of the gasoline engine. For the Hybrid, it’s rated at 158 horsepower at 5200-6000 rpm and 162 ft-lbs of torque. The latter figure is reached at a relatively low 2800 rpm, providing lively mid-range acceleration. Nissan claims that the Altima Hybrid can go around 600 miles between fill ups and EPA fuel economy ratings are 33-mpg city and 35-mpg highway. During our time with the Altima Hybrid, we put it through multiple 120 mile round trips, much of it through city driving, and the difference in fuel consumption was quite noticeable with visits to the pump almost halved. Still, when compared to newer and more advanced hybrids like the Ford Fusion and Hyundai Sonata, the fuel economy is less than impressive.

Although the Altima Hybrid doesn’t exactly scream ‘enthusiast,’ the chassis and suspension tuning are definitely biased toward the tauter side of comfort. The ride is fairly firm, even with the 16-inch wheels and high profile 60 series tires, while pushing the car through the turns reveals surprisingly neutral handling for a front driver. Standard Vehicle Stability Control also helps. The Altima Hybrid sports four-wheel disc brakes with standard ABS and features regenerative braking, a feature common to other hybrid cars. For 2011 the Altima Hybrid’s price remains unchanged at $26,780 for a single, decently equipped model. Given the high profile status that hybrids currently enjoy, the Altima Hybrid seems to have been lost in the shadows almost since the day it was introduced.

2011 Nissan Cube review

Nissan Cube
The Nissan Cube is hard to pigeonhole. As part city-friendly microvan, part tall compact wagon, and part utility vehicle, it's unrivaled in style and packaging. The 2011 Nissan Cube is an oddity, no doubt. Like the Scion xB, the Cube has a boxy design with rounded corners everywhere, but with its asymmetry and flared sheetmetal for the wheel wells and rear fascia, the Cube is far more distinctive than the xB. All Cube models come with a 122-horsepower, 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, powering the front wheels.

The Cube's interior is actually more spacious for passengers than the exterior design suggests. Cargo-wise, the Nissan Cube isn't quite as stellar. The top Kr?m model gives the 2011 Nissan Cube a dressed-up appearance—including a roof spoiler, a chrome grille with horizontal bars, bright painted alloy wheels, interior accent lighting, aluminum pedals, and a different front and rear fascia, plus various extras, such as Bluetooth, steering-wheel audio controls, and a Rockford Fosgate subwoofer.

Despite its somewhat boxy shape, the 2011 Nissan Cube is surprisingly nimble on the road. As fun as the Cube is to drive, though, it comes at a price: noise. Road noise in the 2011 Cube, especially when on the freeway, is practically unbearable.

The 2011 Nissan Cube’s 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine is capable of 122 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque. The most affordable version of the Cube comes with a six-speed manual transmission. Higher trims have an optional continuously variable transmission, or CVT, available. Cubes with manual transmissions get fuel economy ratings of 24/29/26. Cubes with the CVT get fuel economy ratings of 28/30/29.

A navigation system is available for the 2011 Cube, though, which is sure to win some drivers over. Visibility is exceptional, making for a safe driving experience.

The Nissan Cube is unusual looking, which is a big part of its attraction to drivers.--There are two main advantages to the 2011 Nissan Cube: fun and affordability. This car is definitely geared towards young drivers; its unique styling isn’t going to appeal to everyone. Nimble handling and fairly good gas mileage are also perks of driving the Cube. Zipping around in this eye-catching car is definitely an experience.
Without a doubt, the 2011 Nissan Cube’s unique styling is one of its biggest downfalls.

The 2011 Nissan Cube remains an eccentrically styled four-door wagon with surprising room for four big adults. hould you buy the 2011 Nissan Cube or wait for a 2012 Nissan Cube? The Nissan Versa that donates its underskin engineering to the Cube is set to be fully redesigned for model-year 2012 or 2013, but the Cube isn’t likely to change until a model-year or two after Versa’s redesign.

The 2011 Nissan Cube styling continues with the same blend of cute and weird it debuted with for model-year 2009. The 2011 Nissan Cube is offered in four models, labeled 1.8, 1.8 S, 1.8 SL, and 1.8 KrĹŤm Edition. Cube 1.8 and 1.8 S models come with 15-inch tires with wheel covers; 1.8 SL and 1.8 KrĹŤm Edition models come with 16-inch alloys. Mechanical: The 2011 Nissan Cube carries over mechanically unchanged. In contrast to its funky image, Cube is quite orthodox mechanically. Based on the Versa’s proven platform and powertrain, the Cube has front-wheel drive, a beam rear axle, and rear drum brakes.

Standard on every 2011 Nissan Cube are antilock brakes with brake assist, plus traction-control and antiskid systems. Seat mounted front side airbags and head-protecting curtain side airbags for both seating rows are likewise included.

The 2011 Nissan Cube is fun to drive, with lively acceleration and an impressively absorbent ride. Features: The 2011 Nissan Cube comes reasonably well equipped with amenities like air conditioning, power windows, mirrors, and locks, remote keyless entry, and an intermittent rear wiper.

2011 Nissan Frontier

2011 Nissan Frontier Review
2011 Nissan Frontier is small truck that are able to carry the real dirty work. Especially because the border is a rare species: a small-scale truck with large transport capacity.

For example, Nissan does not offer a V8 for the border, which means you can watch his big brother, the Nissan Titan, or consider the big trucks from Ford, Chevrolet or Toyota. If you want a small truck that can carry a large truck, the border is the truck for you.

the Nissan Frontier has interior features and safety scores that impress. If you need utility, but want a truck that goes beyond the basics, shop the Nissan Frontier.

While reviewers like the Frontier overall, there are a few complaints. Critics don’t like the Frontier’s interior materials.

Nothing really proves that the Frontier is a nice truck better than the Suzuki Equator. The two trucks are virtually identical: Suzuki contracted Nissan to build the Equator.

The 2011 Nissan Frontier has two cab styles, though both have four doorsQuite simply, the 2011 Nissan Frontier does an awful lot of things well.

The 2011 Nissan Frontier is a compact pickup truck that's offered in an extended cab (King Cab in Nissan-speak) with a pair of flip-down seats in back, and a crew cab with a full 60/40-split-folding three-person bench. A 6-foot cargo bed is standard on King Cab models, while Crew Cab buyers have a choice of a standard 5-foot bed or an optional 6-foot version.

Now the base S model is complemented by the midrange SV, off-road-oriented PRO-4X and the top-of-the-line SL (crew cab only).

Stepping up to the SV trim level adds 16-inch steel wheels with the inline-4 engine and alloy wheels with the V6, plus upgraded tires, a chrome front bumper, a sliding rear window, keyless entry, cruise control, full power accessories, upgraded cloth upholstery and a tilt-adjustable steering wheel. For those planning on taking the road less traveled, there's the PRO-4X, which features 16-inch alloy wheels with off-road tires, a body-color grille, foglights, a locking rear differential, Bilstein off-road shocks, underbody skid plates and spray-in bedliner with Utili-Track tie-downs. The PRO-4X Luxury package adds a sunroof, roof racks and cross bars, leather upholstery, heated power front seats (eight-way driver, four-way passenger), heated mirrors and a rear center armrest.

Additional standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights and side steps for easier cab access.

The 2011 Nissan Frontier is available with two engines. Rear-wheel drive is mandatory. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 19 mpg city/23 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined with the manual transmission, and 17/22/19 with the automatic.

Optional for the SV extended cab and standard for all PRO-4X and crew cab models is a 4.0-liter V6 that produces 261 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. The S, SV and PRO-4X 4x4 can be equipped with either a standard six-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic, while the PRO-4X 4x2 and SL are automatic only.

The V6 comes with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. In Edmunds performance testing, a V6-powered PRO-4X Crew Cab went from zero to 60 mph in 8.3 seconds.

Every 2011 Nissan Frontier comes standard with antilock disc brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. In Edmunds brake testing, a Frontier PRO-4X came to a stop from 60 mph in 128 feet -- impressive for a truck.

The Frontier Crew Cab earned just four stars in these same tests. Both scored a perfect five stars in side-impact tests, although the King Cab was not tested for rear side protection. King Cab models feature reverse-opening rear doors that offer access to a pair of fold-up jump seats behind the front buckets.

2011 Nissan 370Z coupe

Style, power and impressive handling make the Nissan 370Z a tough competitor in the affordable sports car class.
Available as a coupe or a roadster, reviewers agree that it is the Z is a lot of car for the money, although its price does approach that of luxury sports cars.

Consumers on the hunt for an affordable sports car should check out the Hyundai Genesis Coupe and the Ford Mustang. The rear seats of the Mustang aren’t recommended for adults, but with 13.4 cubic feet of cargo space the Mustang nearly doubles the space available in the 370Z. Opt for the GT trim, and the Mustang will match the 370Z’s straight line performance, while offering nimble handling by muscle car standards.

The 2011 Nissan 370Z is available as a coupe or a roadster and in three available trims: base, Touring and Nismo.

2011 nissan gt-r reviews

2011 nissan gt-r
The 2011 Nissan GT-R .While the base trim has been discontinued, the Nissan GT-R Premium receives a mild refresh. Autoblog writes, "The illustrious Nissan GT-R is, quite possibly, one of our favorite cars currently in production."

Given the GT-R’s 2011 upgrades, shoppers should expect a slightly steeper sticker price. The 2011 Nissan GT-R, however, provides more cargo room -- enhancing its practicality. Higher-end trims of the 911 also cost substantially more than the 2011 Nissan GT-R.

For 2011, Nissan has dropped the GT-R’s base trim and added more standard features to the GT-R Premium. Be sure to check for current Nissan deals that may be available on a new Nissan GT-R.

In Nissan's case, the 2011 GT-R showcases how stratospheric performance can be achieved through high technology while still allowing a relative bargain in the supercar realm.

Now in its third year, the 2011 Nissan GT-R continues to be one of the most breathtaking performance cars available. What remains of our gripes is the lack of a traditional manual transmission and the GT-R's relative heft when compared to other high-performance cars.

Even so, no similarly priced car can challenge the GT-R for its all-around dominance. It's only when you start looking at cars like the Porsche 911 GT3 that you'll find the GT-R outclassed, but at that point the price of entry is considerably higher. In the end, the 2011 Nissan GT-R remains one of the smartest supercar purchases in recent memory.

The 2011 Nissan GT-R is a high-performance sport coupe with a 2+2 seating layout. Standard features include 20-inch alloy wheels shod with high-performance tires, automatic xenon headlights, Brembo brakes, an electronically adjustable suspension, leather/faux suede upholstery, heated power-adjustable front seats, Bluetooth, keyless ignition/entry, automatic climate control and an 11-speaker Bose CD/MP3 audio system with two subwoofers, satellite radio, iPod connectivity and Bluetooth streaming audio.

The Nissan GT-R is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that generates 485 hp and 434 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission routes this power to the ground via an advanced all-wheel-drive system. In testing, we've timed the GT-R from zero to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. Standard safety features on the GT-R include massive antilock Brembo brakes, stability control and traction control. Front-seat side airbags and full-length side curtain airbags are also included. In brake testing, we've recorded a best 60-0 mph stopping distance of 98 feet, which ranks among the shortest distances we've ever seen.

The 2011 Nissan GT-R's cabin conveys a mix of performance, technology and seriousness.
Nearly everything about the Nissan GT-R exudes an aura of high-performance through high-technology. On serpentine roads or racetracks, the GT-R is a marvel of handling dynamics. Road noise can be intrusive at times, but we think it's a small price to pay for the 2011 Nissan GT-R's otherworldly performance.

GT-R is a sports sedan manufactured by Nissan. This sedan has bagged many awards like Super car of the year 2007 from Top Gear, 2008 Driver’s Car of the year from Autocar, 2009 Automobile of the year from Automobile Magazine, Car of the Year 2008 from EVO Magazine and 2009 Motor Trend car of the year from Motor Trend. Nissan GT-R is one of the smartest super cars to drive and to own.
2011 Nissan GT-R is a high performance coupe sedan available with 2+2 seating arrangement.

2011 Nissan Versa Reviews

In terms of performance and comfort, the Nissan Versa doesn't really stand out in its class. However, when it comes to bargain-basement pricing, the Versa is tough to beat.

Just know that going from the base model to the next model up brings the Versa's price to just over $11,000. Also, if you're looking for a handy hatchback to zip around town in, the Versa's hatchback body style isn't available on the base model. While the Versa hatchback is a reviewer favorite, it starts at over $13,000. While that means that the base hatch comes with more standard features than the base sedan, it also takes a significant chunk out of the Versa's value equation.

If you're looking for a well-equipped small car, the Kia Soul has a lengthy list of standard features--The Versa is largely unchanged for 2011. Antilock brakes are now standard on the Versa 1.6 sedan, but not the 1.6 BASE sedan. The Versa comes as a sedan or hatchback.

The Versa can be equipped quite well for a small, low-priced vehicle and, in some ways, can rival the comforts of a larger, more sophisticated car.

The Versa is offered in two different body styles, a four-door sedan and five-door hatchback. Versa sedans look a little tall and homely, and the proportions don't work out as well. The 2011 Nissan Versa has all the basics for decent small-car performance, but when it's all added up there's something missing in the details that leaves the overall execution uninspired. In all, you won't ever mistake the 2011 Versa for a sporty car. Compared to other cars in its class, the 2011 Versa is exceptionally roomy in both sedan and hatch guises, with plenty of headroom. The hatchback has a generous 17.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the backseat up, trunk space is vast for such a small car in the sedan, and Nissan says the amount of interior space approaches that of mid-size cars. The "2011 Nissan Versa" rides very comfortably—so much so, that you're likely to think you're in a larger vehicle. Depending on what trim you choose, the 2011 Nissan Versa can range from well under $11k, including destination, to approaching the $20k mark.
Changes are light for the 2011 Nissan Versa: antilock brakes are now included with the upgraded 1.6 sedan trim, while the 1.8 S sedan gains a six-disc CD changer.

Cars at a certain bargain-basement price point used to be called penalty boxes. Like many subcompact cars, the Versa is available in four-door sedan and hatchback body styles and its most basic models offer little in the way of convenience features.
The 2011 Nissan Versa is a subcompact car available in sedan and hatchback styles. The Power Plus package adds power windows and locks, keyless entry, cruise control and padded door armrests.

The 1.8 SL adds 15-inch alloy wheels, a height-adjustable driver seat, upgraded cloth upholstery, front and rear center armrests, 60/40 split rear seatbacks (sedan) and a six-speaker stereo. The sedan's Convenience package adds keyless ignition/entry, Bluetooth and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls. The 2011 Nissan Versa is available with a choice of two four-cylinder engines. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, while a four-speed automatic is optional.

EPA-estimated fuel economy with the manual is 26 mpg city/34 mpg highway and 29 mpg combined. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the 1.8 S trim. The four-speed automatic is optional on the 1.8 S trim and standard on the 1.8 SL sedan, while the 1.8 SL hatchback gets a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

Every Versa comes standard with front side airbags and side curtain airbags. Antilock brakes are optional on the base car and standard on all other trim levels. Without antilock brakes, we found the Versa could stop from 60 mph in 132 feet, which is about average for this type of car. In government crash tests, the Versa scored four out of five stars for all occupants in both front- and side-impact tests.

In the government's new, more strenuous crash testing for 2011, the Versa earned an overall rating of two stars out of a possible five, with three stars for overall frontal crash protection and two stars for overall side crash protection.

The 2011 Nissan Versa has a remarkably roomy cabin. Looks-wise, the car's interior is quite bland, but overall interior quality is high. The car's overstuffed front seats are comfortable during hour-long commutes, but support fades on longer drives. Unlike Honda's Fit, the Versa hatchback's split rear seat doesn't fold down in a way that provides a flat cargo floor, but lowering it reveals a sizable 50 cubic feet of space.

Thanks to its softly tuned suspension, the 2011 Nissan Versa offers the sort of pillow-like ride that's usually reserved for much larger cars.

2011 Altima Coupe Review

This Altima felt to me like a relatively sparsely equipped model, with its cloth seats, four-cylinder engine, and lack of navigation. The only readily apparent option was the CVT automatic, which I'd skip.

The Nissan Altima is back again, in both coupe and sedan styles. The base price for the 2011 sedan is $19,900. Despite what logic might dictate, the 2011 Altima Hybrid is not the highest-priced Altima offering. The "2011 Altima "3.5 SR coupe has that honor at $24,740.

Nissan hasn’t veered from the 2011 Altima foundation built on two gas engines and a gas-electric hybrid. The majority of Altima purchasers select the four-cylinder engine. The 2011 Altima 2.5 sedan and 2.5 S sedan and coupe are equipped with a 175-horsepower 2.5-liter I-4. 2011 Altima coupes are available with a choice of the CVT or a six-speed manual transmission, regardless of engine size.

The Altima is a nimble ride overall, agile and quick. Nissan currently offers a three year, 36,000 mile basic warranty, a five year, 60,000 mile powertrain warranty, and a five year, unlimited mileage corrosion warranty on its Altima models.

Nissan dug into the QR family of engines for the 2.5-liter aluminum inline four-cylinder that powers the Altima Coupe’s 2.5 S trim. The 3.5-liter VQ engine in the 3.5 SR trim has an aluminum block and heads, DOHC design, and variable valve timing.

The Coupe offers a six-speed manual or a shiftable continuously variable transmission (CVT) that is clearly the better option.
An abbreviated wheelbase means more agility in the curves for the Altima Coupe, and it's quite sprightly for a front-wheel-drive car.

Legible, reachable controls make the interior of the Altima Coupe a joy to navigate.

Front, front-side, and curtain-side airbags, antilock four-wheel disc brakes, and stability and traction control are standard features for every Altima, and while NHTSA test results have yet to be released for the 2011 Altima Coupe due to a change in testing procedures, 2010 results show five-star ratings for all but frontal crashes, which earned four stars.

The Altima Coupe's 3.5-liter engine is a winner, providing performance and relative efficiency with a nice level of refinement that has gotten the attention of owners and Ward’s alike. It's a shame there isn’t a serviceable manual transmission, but the CVT offers a useable alternative.

2011 Nissan Frontier

2011 Nissan Frontier Review
Should you buy a 2011 Nissan Frontier or wait for the 2012 Nissan Frontier? Buy a 2011 Frontier if you want a selection of models and features that may not be so broad once the 2012 Frontier rolls out. The 2011 Nissan Frontier’s styling doesn’t change. Frontier features an extended cab, which Nissan calls the King Cab, and an eponymous Crew Cab. The 2011 Nissan Frontier S is still the entry-level model. Onto the next rung in place of the SE model slips the newly introduced 2011 Frontier SV model. The off-road-styled Frontier PRO-4X model returns.
Mechanical: In combination with the model relabeling, the 2011 Nissan Frontier loses its former LE King Cab and will not offer an SV Crew Cab with the long-bed and manual transmission. However, the 2011 Frontier roster gains an S Crew Cab short-bed and a PRO-4X Crew Cab short-bed with manual transmission.

In any configuration, the 2011 Frontier continues to follow compact-pickup convention with a choice of four- and six-cylinder engines and rear-wheel drive (2wd) or four-wheel drive (4wd).
Frontier’s four-cylinder is a dual-overhead-cam 2.5-liter with 152 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque. A few key competitors make 4wd available on their four-cylinder models, but Frontier’s four-cylinder is confined to 2wd models. The V-6 is available on both Frontier cab styles and with 2wd and 4wd. Four-cylinder Frontiers are only adequate performers. -- Changes to 2011 Nissan Frontier features run mostly to reconstituted and renamed options packages.

While most competitors have a short list of interior features, lackluster safety scores and lackluster performance, the Nissan Frontier has interior features and safety scores that impress.

The two trucks are virtually identical: Suzuki contracted Nissan to build the Equator

The SV V6 and PRO-4X King Cab models and all Crew Cab models have a VQ40DE 4.0 liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine with 261 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 281 pounds per foot of torque at 4,000 rpm.

All "2011 Nissan Frontier" models meet Tier 2, Bin 5 Federal emissions standards and LEV2-ULEV California emissions standards.

All King Cab models also have fold-flat front-passenger seats and forward-facing rear flip-up seats, and cloth seat trim. Additionally, all 2011 Nissan Frontier models come with a 4-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake force distribution (EBD) built-in. The S and SV 4-Cylinder models have 11.1″ front vented disc brakes and 11.3″ rear vented disc brakes. The SV V6 and PRO-4X King Cab models and all Crew Cab models have 11.7″ front vented disc brakes and 11.3″ rear vented disc brakes.

2011 Nissan Quest Review

2011 Nissan Quest Review

Nissan released a slew of teaser pictures that reveal some details about their latest minivan which will do battle with the also new-for-2011 Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey.

At this point Nissan has only released images of the 2011 Nissan Quest. Expect at least seating for seven passengers and front-wheel drive, as well as available minivan goods -- like power-sliding doors, a power lift gate and a third row seat that folds flat.

Less controversial is the 2011 Quest’s interior. The first- and second-row captain’s chairs (there is no second-row-bench option) are superbly comfortable, and even the third row isn’t a penalty box, thanks to theater-style seating and the absence of a second-row center seatback. Because none of the Quest’s seats folds into the floor, as they variously do in its competitors, the Nissan has nearly 40 percent less available cargo space than the Odyssey.

On the road, the Quest’s driver might actually enjoy the drive. We never enjoy the characteristic engine moan that accompanies these transmissions, but we don’t suppose many Quest buyers will notice.

At $35,150, the SL brings leather upholstery, 18-inch wheels, a power liftgate, roof rails, a power driver’s seat, heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors, and a quick-release function for the fold-flat third-row seats. Finally, the range-topping LE adds Nissan’s wonderfully intuitive navigation system with an eight-inch display, a 9.3-gig infotainment system with 13 Bose speakers, rear-seat DVD entertainment, blinds for the rear side windows, Nissan’s new air-scrubbing advanced climate-control system, blind-spot warning, xenon headlamps, and more, for $42,150.

Sadly missing from the options list are the second-row captain seats from the Quest’s Japanese-market twin, the Elgrand, which feature articulating seatbacks and chaise-style calf rests—so much for snatching sales from Maybach.

Nissan “gets” parenting. A terrible marketing phrase for a good vehicle. With that, Nissan introduced v4.0 of their Quest minivan.

The new Quest is one big slab-sided piece of beef. It’s clear that Nissan designers have chosen the road less traveled. Dual moonroofs, second row power windows, fold flat second and third row seats with power return on the LE model. It’s a feature stolen from the larger QX56, but it’s trick tech nonetheless.
Bluetooth is available on the base S model, and standard on SV, SL and LE models. The theater-style layout finds the second row higher than the first, with the third row even higher.

The Quest is built on what Nissan calls its D-platform. Power to the people
Power for the Quest comes from the company’s ubiquitous VQ-series 3.5-liter V6 engine. Fuel economy numbers are estimated at 18/24, for the 4,548 lbs. vehicle (in LE trim). Power is transmitted to the road by Nissan’s Xtronic automatic CVT transmission with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC), that seeming causes gear changes to disappear. Twin tube shocks help smooth out the ride, while speed sensitive power-assisted rack and pinion steering offers good road feedback.

Stopping power comes from four-wheel vented disc brakes with ABS, brake assist and electronic brake force distribution to evenly spread power to all four wheels instead of having the vehicle lurch forward in extreme braking situations. With a “great room” concept of interior design, the Quest is quieter than any recent minivan we can recall. Leftlane’s bottom line
Nissan’s new Quest is an example of good product accompanied by a bad marketing plan. We’ll see if anything changes after Quests hit showrooms in late January
